DOMESTIC MACHINE BASIC SEWING

The basic sewing course is the starting point and gives the student access to the other sewing modules.

The basic sewing course takes 3 Saturdays to complete.

It costs R 1740, which includes the notes, all the fabric and patterns needed, free use of our sewing machines, and a FREE kit.

You will learn how to use a domestic sewing machine and will make samples of basic components of garments.  We provide the FREE kit which has a pair of scissors, needles, etc, as well as the fabric, pattern, and thread needed to make your samples.

If you have completed the Basic Sewing course you can choose some or all the other modular sewing courses.

Each course includes a free kit with all the materials that you will need to make the garment – you do not need to bring anything with you.

If you have not done Basic Sewing, but are confident that you can sew and use a machine, then you can do an assessment to make sure that you know enough to continue with the modular sewing courses.  It costs R 300 to complete the assessment. SKIRT R 870 TAKES 2 SATURDAYS 2023          

All fees must be paid before the course commences. The minimum age is 16 years. Please note that courses are run in order of difficulty.
